So i'm looking to buy a bunch of Leica equipment (GHT63's and GLS31's for example) and because of the convenient Dollar to Euro exchange and the amount i'm looking for it seems to pay off quiet a lot to order in from the USA. The shop i'm looking at for ordering at this moment is?ÿfltgeosystems. Anyone has had experience with buying from them? I can find reviews on "review" sites but they only go a couple of months back.
Feel free to recommend me some websites of US leica equipment sellers as well where you buy your stuff. In PM preferred.?ÿ
Thanks in advance,
GeoMill
I've never heard anything bad about FLT; I'm pretty sure they are a Leica Authorized Service Center?ÿand Leica seems to keep a pretty tight reign on their partners.

Will you have to pay duty? Does Leica allow its sellers to sell outside of a particular geographic area?
I saw on the news today a lady was fined 500.00 dollars by the US Government for not claiming an apple with customs. She forgot she stuck it in her bag while on the plane...
I am sure not declaring true values could be risky. But an honest deal that saves you money Euro to Dollar is a good move. But check all details. US models could vary from EU models.

It is forbidden to transport fruit, plants, food items, seeds from one country to another in your carry on bag and/or luggage.
This also includes certain technology including game consoles from USA to certain eastern nations.
Customs will totally freak out when anything on the list is found on you or in your luggage.
Upon arrival at the Saigon airport, was a 150ft walk across the tarmac to luggage. I had to give up a box of chocolates at luggage check to get into the airport. Good thing, they would have melted a few minutes later as it was like 110?øF in the shade.

On the face of it, this notion of buying back something into its country (union) of origin, cheaper than when it left, appears to break the first law of financialdynamics .
Transaction went smooth. No problems at customs whatsoever. Interesting how a product from Europe is cheaper for Europeans when we buy them from the US.

Glad to hear it. Thanks for the update.
It's a mixed up, muddled up, shook up world.
