Paterno did not like them because he believed football was a team sport.

Just a lame way to get out from under Paterno's shadow.

The uniforms will also include a blue ribbon in support of abused children. Baby blue I believe, not Navy blue.

I use pink flagging with my company name printed on it.

I'm sorry to hear that. I've always thought that Penn State and Alabama (I'm not a fan of either) had the "classiest" uniforms. Not flashy, not multicolored, no emblems on the helmets, no names on the jerseys, etc.

I guess I'll come down on the other side of this coin. It makes it easier for me to see who the announcer is talking about when you watch games with unfamiliar players. The numbers sometimes get jumbled up, or often even reported wrong but the names allow me to see who they are referring to.

But I agree with the no names looking much cleaner on the uniforms.

I really like the names being there for all to see. It helps me a lot, especially for teams that I seldom see.

My favorites are the ones with twelves letters but no vowels.

There is a theory that kids don't like to play for teams that don't put names on Jerseys, so it may be hurting recruiting. But then again, that doesn't seem to be hurting Alabama lately.

I heard they were going to start putting their names on the back of the waistbands of their pants in honor of Sandusky....

I like the blue ribbon in support of child abuse for a variety of reasons.

Now, you have to be careful how you word things. "In support of child abuse" is perhaps not the best way to describe PSU right now.
