Randy-

I'm sorry to hear about your buddy. It's amazing how attached we get.

I just lost my office cat Oscar last Friday - the place seems empty without him.

That sucks Randy. A good dog is better than a lot of people, a lot of the time, and is just as loved as if it were a person, sometimes more. I feel for you amigo. It is for this reason, I try to keep two pets around at once.

Our 9 year old Chihuahua is getting up there, so we recently got a new dog, Margarita (the name implies how we got her) and she's great. The other will help ease the passing of the one.

Sorry for your loss dude.

At first I thought your GPS got whacked... then the 4-wheeler fell off the truck... Then I saw Pistol.

I totally understand. Dogs are more faithful than most people.

Second post this week about losing a dog, and they both sent me back 20 years thinking about mine. Somewhere, she's still barking at kites and jet planes! Sorry for your loss Randy.

Randy,

If not others at least you will meet Pistol at the Rainbow Bridge.

Agree totally with Kris, most dogs are better than people. we just now have two dogs for the first time, and it's pretty neat. they play together all day. I can't remember how long it's been since I've had more than one dog at a time, but this works out really well. On hot days when I don't want to bring my lab to work, she has a built in playmate.

best wishes, Randy, I know how hard it is to lose a good pup.

SAD

> most dogs are better than people. .

SAD sad indictment on the human race.
Where are we headed?
I know people who dont visit their parents for weeks on end.
What is happening to loyalty and sense of belonging?
Even marriage dont seem to mean anything anymore.

maybe my comment should be in P&R.

Randy,
Great picture, looks right at home on the 4-wheeler.
Praying that great memories will help you through this hard time.

Put my Border Collie, Sprite, down last year (that's her in my avatar) at 16-1/2 yo. About broke my heart. Rescued a German Shepard/Siberian Husky puppy from the pound that year. Been a real joy watching him grow up, if he would only quit eating the truck! Ate the damn fire extinguisher out of the suburban this morning! Anyhoots, get a new buddy, Randy, it will certainly help heal the heart!

Sorry for your loss, Randy.

Pets, especially dogs are family. They are almost always more dependable than a human chainman too.

My working buddy passed away - Rainbow Bridge

condolences on the passing of your friend and family member - it's never easy losing a loved one.

"Rainbow Bridge" -
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
