As a surveyor, I love a well-built leather bag for my laptop, briefcase, whatever. From what I've observed, it seems to be a common thing among surveyors in general.
Recently, I helped a friend build a web site for his new business, hand-crafting leather bags. He's sent me some pictures and I have to say, I'm impressed. In fact, I'm going to buy one.

Listen, I don't want to tell you your business, but the link you've posted has me concerned. I realize that things are "different" in the Northwest, but down here, that particular bag is called a murse (otherwise known as a man purse).
I know, I know, we Type A personalities don't give a flip, but really, do you want to be mistaken for someone carrying a European Shoulder Bag, when in reality, a backpack will do just as well and keep you "hip".
Simply put, I'm worried about "non-tollerant" individuals pulling your "man card" for an abuse of the shoulder bag.
🙂
Nice carry bag but wouldn't be able to use it for a computer. I guess I carry too much other stuff and you might let him know that these won't work for someone with a 17" laptop. Having problems finding a bigger laptop bag at this time.

There's more than one design, silly. Besides, it's a European shoulder bag. 😉

I'm waiting for "The Trail" which I think will have a briefcase-style handle instead of the shoulder strap and will hold a larger laptop.

"It was a gift" (Roll eyes to the right).

I may get one for my wife, my daughters, maybe my mother in law. Well, OK, not the MIL, but it'd be a dandy bag for the other girls. 😉

If it is designed properly it is not a murse but it is a 'possibles' bag, as carried by Crockett, Boone, et. al..
I was going to get one in the 80's and my wife had a conniption. 😛
BTW, you carry it with the strap crossing you chest, not off one shoulder. If you do it the latter way it is a murse.
I just checked out the website. Those are overpriced, undersized and fit the murse category.
:bad:
Murse

Had a wife once that reminded me of a leather bag, quill side out. 33 years later still sharp and prickly, going through husband number 5. Her uncle Jimmy and my uncle Jimmy were father and son, but we weren't related by blood. Divorce and remarriage can make for some interesting family lines that keep on giving.

Note Book Case
I bought a Briggs and Riley a few years ago. It literally puts my desk on the road. Everything I need including my 17" laptop (since replaced by the netbook), D.C., field books, maps, legal-sized files and accessories go right in place. It almost was like a bag I designed to my specs. Expensive, but mine shows virtually no wear after over 5 years and has a lifetime guarantee. I simply have not seen a better bag.
