Actually Only One

"Florida light bulb"

Ahem, could you elaborate on that nasty comment? 😉

Certify that the Light Bulb Complies

> Of course when you change the light bulb you have to include successors and assigns in your certification that it really is a light bulb.

And, more importantly, that the illumination levels produced comply with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, codes, ordinances, laws, and industry standards. All our other surveyors do that, so you shouldn't have a problem, right?

Best. Thread. Ever.

Thanks for the Friday (and beyond) funnies. I knew there was a reason I hung around this crowd. 🙂

Wendell had a message board like that when he was a kid, then his dad got a job. 😀

> There would also, of course, be the new thread by an RTK user asking what the minimum number of turns required to screw in a light bulb is because the saleman had said as long as the light bulb doesn't fall out of the socket when you take your hand off it, you're golden.

excellent metaphor.

Post processed light is always better than real time light.

That was a gem, Tom.
I remember thinking then how much time you must have put into it.
Thanks again,

Don

Try using post-processed light in a room with a coffee table late some night.

You guys really know how to have fun.
I never thought so much can be written about light bulb. Funniest to me was BLM=Bureau of Light Management:-D

Thank you for the fun post!

I think what you meant was that if you want to see what you're doing, leave the light on. If you don't want to worry about the details, use a flash.

Actually, the better analogy is between leaving the light on for long enough to actually see the room and just flicking the switch on and off three or four times RTK fashion, hoping for the best. :>

> Q. But Mr Edison, why do you think there is still resistance to the use of incandescent bulbs?

I guess this was an inadvertent pun since the bulb generates light because of resistance?

I agree about the Washingtons - but wouldn't trade the Valley for anywhere!

You mention Tesla. The news lately has been full of irony regarding the Tesla and Edison namesakes. Tesla is about to release a personal household battery. Southern California Edison (an electric power company) is looking to invest in the technology. So do you suppose Tesla and Edison are rolling at the moment? Tesla advocated for alternating current while Edison pushed for DC. I don't think they departed the land of the living as friends.

It would be like Kent McMillan Surveying offering to do fast turn around lot surveys using RTK (or the equivalent) in another hundred years (perish the thought).

I wouldn't worry about that one. It ain't gonna happen. I'm content to let the folks who don't have any other skills attempt that and I'll continue to make a decent living from the aftermath.

So, does your license say "Unmanned Surveyor" or just your W-2? :> If you inspect my User ID, you'll see that I was an early adoptor of the superior, appropriate technology of this message board. I believe you are a very late arrival to the party if your User ID isn't fake.

Oi, I'm calling you out on that.

Such unprofessional rudeness has no place here.

It's not funny, just unpleasant and completely uncalled for.

Pull your head in.
