Doesn't look like Satchel Paige so I'm going to guess Gabby Street. Or, Gabby something or other.

Chris Carpenter?

There are only two Cardinal pitchers with a jersey number in the 20's. This most definitely did not look like the other guy.

Looks like Ozzie Smith to me. Sure ain't Bob Gibson or Lou Brock.
I never met any of those guys.
About 7 or so years ago my ex comes home "do you know this baseball player Gaylord Perry?"
Knowing she is pretty much clueless about sports, and certainly not sports history, I ask how the hell she would know about him. His wife hired her to come over and clean around their house.
I was invited to come over but it just never happened.

What was the name of that TV show where some celebrity would pull a massive practical joke on some other celebrity? Punked, or something like that. Are you absolutely positive you were talking with the real guy?

Did she have to 'spit shine' everything in the house?

I saw gaylord pitch for the Rangers at Comiskey Park againstthe white sox in the 80s.
He had a lead in the 6th with rain threatening. He went into a major league 'slow down' of the game to try to get the rain started and the game called to be official.
It was one both boring and interesting if you know what I mean.
I don't know how many times he tied his shoe, went to the rosin bag and called the catcher out for a chat at the mound.

Oh no...no joke. 101% truth!!!!!!

BUT I MISSED THE CALL!!!!!!!!!!!! :'( :'( :'( I was in the shower!!! But no worries, because it WILL get better here in the near future. B-)

In fact, he and the other "Cardinals" that were there were going to get a piece of cardboard and write on it "Angel, pick up your phone!!" with them all holding it, and then post it to my Facebook!! But then they all thought that might be too mean and cruel and torture for me and decided to not do it. I said OMG I WOULDA DIED!! :woot:

I wouldn't of been mad, I would have been HONORED!!!!!!!!!!

Anyhow...more to come as this "story" evolves. 😉

Hahahaha good one!!!!!!!!! :good:

I've been a Card fan for 31 years. My Cardinals come first!! Then the Giants. B-)

I mean don't get me wrong I really REALLY appreciate and am very humbled at what the Giants farm team owners have done for me; they have treated me with love and friendship and what more could a girl ask for?? They didn't HAVE to do that; they CHOSE to. They call me their "St. Louis Angel" or "Cardinal Angel".

But the little girl in me and teenager in me and adult in me will always love and long for that dream...her St. Louis dream. 🙂

Absolutely!!!!!!!!!!! YAY we get to see our Brad!!! :woot:  :hi5:

Damn this gets better every day!!! BEERLEGGER IN ST. LOUIS!!!

Provided I get there...:-|

I'm leaving THIS dream trip planning in the hands of the "boys" because, well, when I even attempt to think about it, I get a bit overly "excited". I'm like a kid in a candy store, but worse!! heheehe Probably how some of you guys get around hot rod cars, guns, home cooked meals, surveying instruments, etc... You get it. B-)
