My youngest son gave me a present to remember. We ran together (actually he was way ahead of me) in a 5k race this morning (both placing 2nd in our age groups, him 15-19 and me 50-54), spent some good quality time together ending with lunch at the Waffle House.
As the saying goes "it doesn't get any better than this".
Now he is off with his friends and I am cleaning the house before Michelle (who has been visiting family in Connecticut and Pennsylvania for 10 days) gets home.
Why are you standing in a hole?
congrats, but........ WAFFLE HOUSE?!??!!? SERIOUSLY?!?!?! Last time we ate at one of those in Mississippi, it was THE nastiest place I'd EVER eaten...never again.

They live in Metro Atlanta where it seems there is at least one Waffle House in every square mile!
The one that I went to in Memphis did breakfast fairly good, I thought.
Don't know which one you went to, but I frequent the one in Clinton, MS Meridian, MS and Brandon, MS regularly and never have had any problems. Hope you emailed corporate about your experience so that they could correct any problems.
No hole.....those who know me know that at 5'6", I am what you would call vertically challenged!
His choice...the All Star special is 2 eggs, hash browns, toast, your choice of ham, bacon or sausage and a waffle...all for 7 bucks +/-.
It's existential
Corporate couldn't help. Rankin or you: )

Now ain't that the way it works? Sounds like he is both faster and smarter than you 😉

If I was that tall I would get a nose bleed

That is what it is all about. Scary how fast they grow up and even scarier how they mimic things you do or have done. At least that scares me.
