I've been surveying in a not-one-of-the-nicer apartment sites, and noticed a large dog quietly watching me over a wall. All the other dogs across the alley were going berserk, but this dog just watched quietly. I talked to the people in the yard and it turned out they had rescued the dog from being run over in traffic, but couldn't keep him much longer because the management was putting pressure on them to get rid of him. He turned out to be about 18-months-old, male, not neutered, certainly abused by the original owner, and the nicest, cuddliest animal you could imagine. When I fed him dog biscuits this morning he kept curling his paws around my arm to keep me there.
I've been trying to find a home for him to no avail. I can't take him home because Bailey is utterly self-centered and would die of a broken heart if we got another dog, especially a bigger and boisterous one. So, this afternoon I went to the Humane Society and paid the adoption fee, neutering fee, a training fee, and future adoption fee. The people who have him will take him in tomorrow. Hopefully the Humane Society will be able to find a nice home for him. Just one of those dogs you love instantly.
Good on 'ya mate! That stuff breaks my heart as well.
I sure hope for the best for him!

That's very kind of you Bruce!
Bruce, I can't help but believe that God has a special reward for those that care for His "best friends". Since dogs are man's best friends and God made man in His image... you get my point. Thanks for having a heart!
Good looking hound.
B-)
You are my kind of guy Bruce. Thanks for having a heart.

Amen to everything said above.

Good for you Bruce. Hope they find him a good home. Looks like a nice bowzer and the smart ones don't spaze out and bark at everything that moves. World needs more people and dogs like that.
My oldest daughter wanted to be a veterinarian, but couldn't afford the school. So now she's a nurse, go figure. She is the proud owner of 3 "rescued" dogs. The coolest is a boxer, one is a retarded long hair chihauha (sp) who does bark at everything, and now a new pup lab dalmation mix who's up to 50 lbs already at 7 months. The grandkids love them and the dogs love the kids.
Give credit to big hearts..... 🙂
