whoever thought that was a good idea.... blech :confounded: ..... we didn't claw our way to the top of the food chain to eat that stuff....
Maybe you got a bad one? I'd never order one in a restaurant, but my wife made a few that were incredible. I mean, I like turkey, it's ground into a patty, add some spices and cheese, tomato, lettuce, onion, etc. What's not to like?
I've been known to make them with garlic, ginger, green onion, soy sauce, sesame oil, and hot chilies blended in the meat. Plain like a hamburger...no thanks.

Not my go to burger, but seasoned and cooked right, not bad.

Yea! That's what I'm talking about! Well seasoned!
Deep fried at home, yes
As we say around the herd..........................Eat more poultry.

I've tried it a few times, and it's "okay" (I guess).
But no matter what you do, it doesn't taste like a REAL Burger!
In fact, I bought a nice eye of round last night, and will be grinding REAL burger sometime before Dinner Time tonight.

Use to be a little run down drive-in caf?? in Pond Creek, OK that had Emu Burgers on the menu. They weren't too bad, but the chili-burger with real beef, shredded cheddar, onions and jalapenos was to die for. 😉

Emu . Wonder if there's still anybody around planning to get rich quick with emus. I knew a few farmers in the 90s who were certain of it.
We were expecting some company this past summer who are borderline vegan- only meat they eat is chicken, turkey, and fish, so Mrs. File bought supplies for their family of 5 - but their plans fell thru and they never showed. Sooooo- Last night, she made this meat loaf thingy last night that was ok - (still better than anything from the Spanish DFAC at Camp Echo), but not on par with her usual great food.
After Adopted File was in bed, I politely thanked her, but asked that she never buy turkey burger again.

the stuff we just had seemed like it was ground while still on the carcass......
An old timer I used to work with once commented after lunch at a nearby scarf and barf that he "the food was so bad that he might have to lick his a$$ to get the taste of lunch out of his mouth".
That is about what I think l of turkey burgers. Ya have to put some much seasoning and other crap on them to make them tolerable. Turkey is not meant to be served ground up.

Around here I quite often have to say to restaurateurs that "I'd take that food for my dog, but I don't think he'd eat it". Your quote is a notch or two higher.
