Hi everyone. I'm a Geomatics student at the University of Alaska, Anchorage. I've been learning a lot on this site, so maybe it's time to participate. Thanks for providing this forum.

You know what a great site this is.?ÿ Now, let's hear some good stuff from your experiences.?ÿ Or, simply throw in a knock-knock joke or a pun once in awhile.

I'm curious to know if you've been taught any field work yet involving double-centering and bucking in. Are they categorized as old school techniques and not viable in today's world of surveying?

@field-dog Geo Measurements I. Our text describes double reversion, and Balancing, or wiggling-in, as "proper field procedure", and "occasional requirement". Detailed instructions are given, but we haven't practiced either of these techniques yet.
