Hello?ÿ all,?ÿ
My name is Brandon and I am a new member from Northern VA. I have worked as a LiDAR analyst and AutoCAD Technician for a combined 3 years of experience. My schooling background was primarily in environmental studies and data visualization. I am enrolled into an apprenticeship program here in Virginia. I am right now on the job hunt for an employer that will give me a chance to gain experience out in the field so that I can be approved to sit for the FS exam.?ÿ
I have had some experience out in the field performing vegetation assessments with drones to measure the impacts of herbicide spraying, boundary surveys, construction stake-outs and flagging surveys. I have a few interviews next week with some firms in my area next week so I am looking forward to letting the forum know how my journey goes.?ÿ
Thanks for having me!
Welcome, Brandon!

Welcome! ?????ÿ
Welcome. I don??t think you will have any problems finding a place to get started in Northern VA. Once you get settled into your new career take a look and join the VAS. Every year they do the John Foster School. It will be in April next year I believe. It is a great resource for getting you prepared for the FS exam. If you go through it for the 4 days or so you will have a great layout of how to prepare and study for the exam. They do one for the PS and State Specific as well. ?ÿI assume the apprenticeship is the one in Fairfax and I have heard very good things about it and know a couple of those that help teach some of the materials. They will get you prepared. ?ÿGood Luck.?ÿ
Send me your resume, I'm looking for someone who can split time between field and office in Sterling (with some travel possible).?ÿ I work on primarily gas & electric transmission/distribution projects and renewable energy projects.?ÿ Waiting to hear back about a 22 mile project from Rehoboth to Dagsboro in Delaware for an offshore wind farm.?ÿ?ÿ
