Stolen last night: a Leica 1201 Total Station and Controller.
Also a GPS receiver and 360 prism. Lots of other small stuff as well. But those are the big ticket items. All in the Portland, Oregon area. (Well it was, who knows by now).
We contacted police, our local dealer, and are keeping an eye on craigslist, and ebay. Just thought I would let y'all know.

So sorry to hear that Brady.
Thanks bud. It really will ruin a surveyors day.

A subcontractor working for us had his survey gear taken from the RV he was working out of recently. The RV was parked in a Walmart Parking Lot in Stillwater, OK and the theft happened in the middle of the day. They took every piece of survey gear, cables, chargers, etc. and left everything else in the RV unmolested.
Brady, where was this stuff stolen from? Truck? Storage Shed? Office?
It was taken out of a work van.

Not to be hammering on you or your company, Brady, because so many surveyors leave the equipment in their trucks over night. But that just isn't a secure enough place. Plus, particularly in Portland in November, it's way too damp.
Thieves who take survey equipment know just what it is, where to find it, and where to turn it over for a quick profit. This usually isn't just a smash and grab by some drug addict, it's a targeted professional job. We've all got to get a little wiser about how we secure our stuff.
Furthermore, these professional thieves now know just where to go to pick up a brand new Leica TS in about 2 weeks.
I agree completely.
Brady,
I did have the PLSO post your message to our members.
