When you set up a thread, you can click on a button to watch the thread and another to send email notifications. I'm sure someone can tell you how to turn those off (but I can't)
The easy way is to ask Wendell. Go to Community to find the various categories. Scroll to the bottom of the list to find Support and Bugs or something like that. Post in that category and Wendell will be along soon to straighten you out.
