Good morning from across the pond. I am a U.S. Land Surveyor currently living in the UK with my wonderful family. We have always dreamt of living abroad and are finally giving it a go. Feel free to ask me any questions about what the process has been like.
Cheers!
Are you working in the UK as a surveyor? Did you retain US citizenship, or did you have to declare yourself a Loyalist? Is the cuisine as bad as popular culture suggests?
Yes I am currently employed by a UK surveying firm. I still pledge allegiance to the flag and if we stay long enough we can have dual citizenship. I don't think the cuisine is terrible but our palate is certainly different than the UK palate. I have eaten some of the local traditional foods such as "Toad in the hole" and it was super delicious. There is some fantastic Asian/ Indian cuisine as well.
Bob's yer uncle! Have fun and be careful driving on the wrong side of the road.
