Greetings everyone at surveyorconnect,

I'm a student studying Geomatics with about 2 years of field work experience, and I'm joining this community to gain a little more exposure to the industry than I already have. My anticipation is that I'll see discussions here that are relatable to things I'm studying in a class environment and that I may further develop some of the theories and concepts I've learned in a classroom by hearing what professionals consider to be practical compared with what has been written in an academic perspective. I've received great input from friends about this community and I'm looking forward to becoming a member of the group as well as the surveying profession.

Respectfully,

Dan

Most every day I learn something new on this board but I've been surveying for nearly 40 years. That says a great deal about the wealth of information available here. Some of it is very, very specific and other is very, very general. Enjoy the ride with us.

You can learn all sorts of things relating to land surveying, construction staking, business management, equipment evaluations and even things like how to say "I am the first of seven" in Norwegian. That would be, "Jeg er den fÌürste av syv."

I have been surveying even longer than Holy Cow will admit to having done and I still learn things here almost every time I check the posts.
