It must have been someone else, right?
I've been good for quite a long time.

Ahem, there's a good reason why they call us old farts.
"I've been good for quite a long time."
True Dat.
Thread lasted way longer that I thought.
I think the writing was on the wall.
More than likely partially my fault.
Then again, I have been good for quite some time as well.
By the way, how is the weather down south? We have been getting showers regulary.
I've got a field that is finally starting to sprout up.
However wildlife spring is down to a drip. Not looking good for the summer.
Dang it! Apparently missed out on a good one.
Highly doubt it.

I think you've been getting more than us, although the last couple of days have been good.
The Spring's been better than the Winter, that's for sure.
The combination of occasional showers and really warm weather has pleased the weeds till they're waist high around the shack.
I'm gonna cut them when it drys out. Not this weekend, though:-) .
Funny, I've never thought of myself as being "down south," but I guess, compared you you, I'm practically in Mexico.

Fruit trees are still blooming here and the bulbs are trying to bloom.
When the weeds start getting tall around the out buildings, I just stake the goat there for the afternoon.
It's a weed eating machine! Nothing but little skittles left and they go away pretty quickly.

Please let me know when you do this so I can locate the stake and determine the limit of my client's property. I'll be able to demonstrate reliance on the monument -- you relied on it to hold the goat, didn't you? -- and thus establish its indisputable provenance as a property corner, despite any pesky discrepancies with record dimensions. (P.S. My client now owns your outbuildings.)

That is a big problem, those goat stakes.
I've actually been losing a little sleep thinking about how I'm going to address that problem.
For the time being, I'll simply carefully move it over to where it is convenient for me. Of course it needs to be set flush and plumb with no fresh pound marks. If I am feeling energetic, I'll remove a tag from one of my corners out front and place it on my goat stake so as to make it look more legit. In addition I have some old rusty fencing materials laying around. Luckily your client is an absentee owner, so they will not notice that addition evidence you missed on your survey for several years.

Seriously- I'm contemplating making a special stake and driver. The stake would already have a ring for tying the goat off and the driver would double as a puller (kind of like a slide hammer). That way I could drive a stake where the weeds are the tallest and easily move it in a couple days. That way there is no confusion.
Do they call you old fart cause they have been brewing in you and smell really bad?
Just wondering - I let mine go when it feels like it will do the most good 😉
