I realize that there are bigger fish to fry but...
I really miss being able to go (or be directed to) the first unread post in a thread.?ÿ
This is a pretty significant feature - especially when a thread gets to multiple pages.
Am I just missing it?
Is this here and just disabled in preferences or did it die with the old forum software?
I suspect that the absence of this feature is contributing to the slow-down of traffic on the forum - the spontaneity evaporates as you review prior posts trying to figure out where you left off - I just skip longer posts unless it's a topic I'm very interested in.?ÿ?ÿ
I, too, miss the easy jump to the first unread post in a thread.
YEAH... that would be a nice feature.?ÿ ?ÿI miss it from the old board.?ÿ I am sure Wendell will bring it back.
It will come back eventually. It's actually a rather big job because it involves storing cookies in user browsers that the site can reference to determine when you were last here. There's a lot of mechanics that goes into that and it would affect the entire website and all users. So you might be able to imagine the scope that it encompasses.
But it's definitely on the to-do list and some of it has already been built.

😀
Lots more visitors.?ÿ Not sure how # posts compares.?ÿ Few extremely busy and long argument threads since the disappearance?ÿ of a certain Texan (an always certain one).
That was just a little ribbing on my part. 😉
But yes -- to be perfectly clear -- I agree that the unread posts feature is very important and it is high on the list of new features to implement and/or re-implement.
Bump... still miss it every time I visit the forum (which is nearly daily)

Have you tried the unread posts feature yet??ÿ https://surveyorconnect.com/community/official-announcements/forum-updates-2018-09-06/
I hadn't tried that - but I have now and it looks VERY promising.
IF it works the way I'm thinking it does,?ÿ I won't be using "recent posts" anymore.
Thanks Wendell.
