Just wanted to post a quick THANK YOU to everyone here (well, okay, most of you, LOL) for returning this site to a place that I enjoy visiting and working on. It's fun again.
Granted, there were some low points, but I now see that it was all because of P&R. Even if the topic at hand wasn't about P or R, it seemed that people got riled up and took it out on us. It's a much gentler place now and I don't feel like I want to avoid it anymore.
The traffic continues to climb at a much steeper pace since P&R went away, surveying topics are up in numbers and we are getting more requests from companies and organizations that want to advertise or do business with us in some way or another.
So thank you. I really mean it.

Have yourself a beer and give the rest to Angel!;-)

No Wendell. Thank You, For What This Is And What This Is Not
This is our office cooler, where a good percentage of the participants get more advice, criticism and comments than from co-workers. There are 2,377 of us sharing 15,517 topics with 161,342 posts. This is vibrant.
There is another place that this is not, where 5 times as many join every day as actually post. A place that had all of 2 posts yesterday, 1 being the sixth reply to a topic started 1/03/2013 and the second being the the fifth reply to a post started on 1/25/2011. A place that claims 28,033 members, who have in it's recent three years posted 974 strictly surveying topics with 4,879 replies.
Yet I still visit that other place, possibly morbidly, but why? Because lurking there is a pile of golden wisdom, an archive of 154,728 topics with 1,501,872 posts. Pray, as strong as you can without P&R, that that is never lost.

Some of us have been pedaling uphill for all we're worth to keep the light on. Many people seem to stop by merely to watch the rest of us as a form of entertainment. That's about all I can offer any more.......entertainment, that is.

Always...No matter if we become rich or poor, Angel here will NEVER EVER forget you guys. But, when my lotto ticket hits the big time, I'll definitely be able to offer MUCH more, prize and donation wise!! :woot:
I have so much more I would LIKE to do and WANT to give, but my budget right now just doesn't allow me to do so. One day though, it will. 😀  :hi5:
I know sometimes it takes me a few months to get out the "thank you" gift packages, especially with you bigger donors, but as a lot of you guys know, sometimes emergencies get in the way and then I get backlogged. Case and point: my moms illness. But...that doesn't mean I have forgotten. I keep VERY detailed records in my "Beerleg Log Book" and know who is owed what. Since I do it all my self, I like to think that it is "quality VS. quantity." B-)
Anyhow, Thank YOU guys for being patient with ME.

Angel, do you watch Big Bang Theory
What I am picturing in my mind is the internet equivalent of Sheldon knocking at Penny's door. It will be Karoly with about 40 new posts, all reading: knock, knock, knock, Angel?
Some Times and Some Places we need to concentrate on the many things that unite us and ignore the few things that divide us. Not always and everywhere, but here and now. It's a wonderfull thing.

Thank you and Angel for your diligent work.
Have you thought about setting out categories that might broaden the scope of Professional Surveying, being a more broad 'measurement' profession following the RICS http://www.rics.org/ca/ ?
Cheers,
Alexandra and Derek
