Would it be possible to have a "Back to the forum index" button at the bottom of a thread?

I agree. I was going to suggest that myself.

Excellent idea. Give me 5 minutes. 🙂

I use a right click and open the post in a new tab, then just close it when done, that seems to work OK.

By the way, there is a "Back to forum index" link at the top of the thread, but I will add one to the bottom also.

Thanks!

Maybe try refreshing the browser (hit F5).

If that doesn't work, try CTRL+F5 (that forces your browser to reload everything).

That didn't work. I see it when I use IE, but not on my Firefox 3.6.6

Odd. I'm using FF 3.6.6.

Maybe try clearing your recent history and refreshing again:

  • Tools
  • Clear Recent History...
  • Make sure history and cache are selected
  • OK
  • CTRL+F5

Thanks!

I just flipped one of the display order tags on the messages and it disappeared on me.

Thanks!

If you flip from Hierarchal to Linear in the upper right corner when viewing the messages, it will disappear.

I think I prefer linear - responses displayed in the time order in which they are posted.

Wendell,

When you post a link, is there a way to make it open in a new window?

Good question. Unfortunately, the answer is no.

The main reason is because it is against current web standards. It isn't built into this forum software because it adheres to those standards.

No promises, but I will see what I can do. I like the idea as well.

Wendell : there's always the old workaround by right clicking the link and choosing to open in a new tab, at least for us Firefox users.
