I have the changes about 90% figured out.
first, the feeds to old threads I was following are all dead now... no big deal, lots of cruft to clean out.
More importantly: I see no way to follow a particular thread, I only see feeds for the entire category.
Thanks

Can you click on watch thread which is on the left side near the top post?
What is an RSS feed?

that only works when I am on This Site, not for my feed reader.
I use the Firefox addon "Bamboo" to follow a number of sites and forums. The webmaster needs to provide the facility, and I am very thankful that we have it here.
The RSS feeds on this software is probably my only real complaint. I am hoping to improve it soon, however.

Thanks Wendell!
Looking for an RSS feed of new threads?
https://surveyorconnect.com/threads/featured/index.rss
It may not be perfect, but I'm working on it.

nope, not New threads or Featured threads. just a single thread that I want to follow.
that button down in the corner fives me a feed to the entire forum. (every single post)
Whoops, I should have re-read the thread. I addressed another RSS feed issue but it wasn't this one. 🙁

not a big deal.
the feed reader functions on the other software was slick, I got spoiled.
I will just assume that the new post threads stay on topic and ignore 99%
thanks
is this a dead issue?

In case no one has answered this (Because there's no hierarchical view, I can't tell): RSS is a system whereby you put an app on your phone, computer or whatever and get pop-up "news alerts" to your favorite news or blog sites.
Apparently the new software provides a "feed" (Button in the very upper right hand corner of any page), that will let you follow the threads you're watching, even if you're not in your browser software or otherwise on line. I haven't tried it yet, but might.
I've done all I can do about the RSS feeds, at least for now.
thanks for trying
