How about a new category for threads that you leave "at the top" so that those of us who have no interest can turn them off? Thanks for listening.

Is that what is sometimes called a "sticky" thread, on other forums?
Who would decide what would stay "at the top"?
How would we know which ones to "turn off"?

I have to say I agree - not to complain or anything but.... if someone hasn't seen the Mardi Gras thread by now, after ten days, they're not checking in to this site often enough and don't deserve to win!;-)

Maybe they are leaving it up until MLB enters the raffle? 😐

If you click the "fold threads" link at the top right, it becomes a single line at the top. Or, if you want to keep all threads expanded except that one, click the little minus button to the left of the topic title to close it. Either way, one quick click cures the "problem" with that sticky topic and any others in the future. 🙂

Yes.

Moderators and Administrators.

> How would we know which ones to "turn off"?

You can't turn stickies off, unless you turn off the entire category in which it is contained.

I'm not seeing a little minus button.

I don't see it either when I have "expand threads" turned on. If I "fold threads" they get condensed, and then they all have a "+" sign. I can then "expand" them individually (and it triggers a minus sign if I expand one).

wendell, you might set it up to have the minus sign by the individual titles when you have "expand threads" on.

(or not. I am not that bothered by it.)

Sorry, you are correct. It only shows when you have the folded view and you have a thread expanded individually.

I'm not that bothered by the sticky either but the minus sign would be a cool feature to fold one thread at a time when they get real long. Or not.

Yeah, I agree, it would be helpful. All this time I thought it was there. :-O

I view the forum using the folded view by default. It's easy to scan the thread titles and see what's going on, then I can just expand each one as needed.

It's been un-stickied for now. When the drawing is within a couple of days, we will re-sticky it a few days before so everyone can get one last chance. That seems to be fair for everyone. 🙂

Thank you, Dan, for doing this!! I love contests!! I have more fun putting the stuff together and giving away/mailing off the stuff than I do entering!! I did not enter this one due to obvious reasons. 😛
