Perhaps you may be referring to the mardi gras posting being "stickied" at the top?
I log in from my blackberry and when I just logged in a few minutes ago I can see the name of the poster after every post!

On a side note...try restarting. If that doesn't work clean your cookies out and log back in....it worked for me last time...
Maybe you went from table view to thread view?
I'll bet you are right -- thread view is the default.
