The above is not the actual thread title, just the gist of the post. Since I cannot see it I cannot confirm the title.
Wendell tells me he did not whack it. But it is never the less gone to my eyes.
In reading some other questions about other posts, is Wendell looking at the site through a rose colored computer screen?

I believe it devolved into a litany of "oh yeah, sez you" back and forth responses and ultimately met it's fate in the internet dustbin of history.
I don't see it either, Paul. In fact, I remember when it disappeared. I had just made a really insightful response that would have convinced everyone of the value of my beliefs when....poof... It was gone. I thought someone had responded to me in an irresponsible manner and had to be deleted.

When someone reports "my latest post" or "the post I posted the other day", that requires some research on my part. Quite honestly, if I spent enough time following those types of questions, I'd never actually get any paying work done. I try to take a quick look but I am human and I do make mistakes.
So again, yes, I removed that post. It had devolved into a huge mess including silly banter and name-calling. I canned the whole thing. I'm not tolerating the ridiculous, childish banter and name-calling anymore. As I said in a previous post about this, some innocent bystanders may have their posts removed due to the childish behavior of others, and I'm sorry. But if I weeded through each and every post and separated out the good ones, it would take forever and a day and I'd never get anything done for my paying clients.
I'll Try To Make My Posts More Memorable In The Future
How about an automated email message to the post creator?
Dear John,
Your post was deleted because:
A/ You are a child.
B/ Others were children.
C/ It wasn't safe for any children to walk the streets.
D/ None of the above.

You have to admit that was a funny picture of Dom Deluise (Captain Chaos) I haven't thought about those old Cannon Ball Run movies in a long time, those were so funny.
I may have to go rent them and watch them again.
As far as the problem, it all seems to stem from certain bravodo comments (i.e., "I put the SMACKDOWN on everybody else", or "I drive stakes through everybody else's opinions".
That goes above and beyond someone making a causual political opinion, where a person may make a comment about a public figure.
Now they are talking directly about other members, and 99.9% of the time they don't have any verifiable proof of their outlandish claims.
Kill the self-aggrandizing, grandiose comments, and I would imagine that the resulting name calling would go away completely.

Just being the bigger person, chuckling at the comment to yourself, and moving on without responding would also have the same effect. Oops, there I go again, failing to practice what I preach.
