The posts are now displaying high lighted orange links for specific words that, when clicked on, take you to ad's... Is this a new item, or has my 'puter' become infected?

I think this issue was raised before. You probably have been infected.

Yeah, sounds like you have some malware or spyware of some sort.

Is it saying there is no virus? ISP add injection is highly unlikely, but if something maliciously set your browser to use a proxy server, I could see this happening. Post back a reply if you don't find a virus.

The scan found 51 issues. I didn't really look through them to find out anything in particular, not knowing what I'm looking for !

but, the problem still exists. When I read a post there are certain words highlighted that serve as links to ads...

I did re-boot after installing the malware protection, but it persists..

Please tell me what web browser you are using and the name of your internet service provider.

Please visit this website and tell me what ip address it reports for you.

If your ip doesn't match a known range for your internet service provider, you are surely using a proxy. I can provide details on how to reset your browser to not use one once you tell me the browser (IE, Firefox, Chrome, etc.) and prove your web traffic is being routed through another computer (your ip address won't match).

If it is not a proxy, and it's not a virus/malware that is easily removed, I will assume rootkit which could be messy to remove.

Weird, that is a Comcast ip address, now I have my doubts. In any case, in Firefox goto Tools, Options, Advanced, Network, Connection, Settings, and select "No Proxy".

If that isn't the problem, I'd have to wonder if you have some sort of weird Firefox plugin doing this. Easiest thing to do might be to completely uninstall Firefox and reinstall it by downloading the latest 6.0.2 installer using IE from firefox.com. You could also try the firefox Ad-on, Extension, and plugin manager. You should be able to access it from Tools. You will have to look through the various lists and try to disable things that look suspicious. Hard to say what it will be, might be easier to reinstall latest version like I said.
