We have a job in Oregon that we will have to connect to the ORGN network. We are in Washington now so I am familiar and set up to connect to WSRN.

We are working with a CS15/GS14 Leica Smartworx set up.

From what I have gathered so far:

Seems like I just need to create a new server profile with the correct IP address and Port. Then once I am connected up it will automatically find the closest station to use.

Thanks for any info you can provide!

I've got a how-to document I can send you if you provide your email. It's written up for NY but its specific to the CS15 controller running SmartWorx so as long as you have the IP and the Port for OR then you should be good.

Contact Ken Bays at ODOT. He can help you out. Also, your Leica Dealer, Kuker Rankin, should have the 411 you seek.

Oregon uses the International foot, while Washington uses US Survey Foot. It's a day-to-day, project-by-project issue here in the Portland/Vancouver area.

Also, Sebastian will probably need to acquaint himself with the appropriate Oregon Coordinate Reference System LDP for the area he will be working in, and will likely need to enter it to his systems as a custom zone, as many softwares do not yet incorporate them in their standard lists.

Thank you all for your help. I was able get set up in our parking lot and connect with orgn and get corrections. I will look into the coordinate system this weekend. The Leica has a default system for Oregon north and south. Not sure if that is what I should be using.

And we are aware of the international foot we have to use.
