Hi ,

We are looking at moving to Trimble R12 for some of our work. Previously we have used Septentrio NR3 and during some longer observation periods 13hr plus?ÿ logging at 1Hz we have been able to power via USB and lemo to a?ÿ Power bank (mi power bank 10000ah)This limited the need for alligator clips and large lead acid batteries which can prove to hard to resist in some areas . Are you able to power R12 over USB ??? Or are there some other options other than the trimble 6ah external battery supply for longer observation periods.

If you are not running the radio and are only collecting static observations that Trimble external battery should work fine.?ÿ I've left it overnight with an R8 more than once (24 hours total) and it still had a good bit of charge.?ÿ There's not much call for 24 hour observations here anymore, but I would wager and R12 actually pulls less power than the R8 (processors, etc.) - radios excluded of course.

@plumb-bill Thanks for that . For our operations we need to log at 1 hz for min 13hrs but 26 hrs would be preferable . Correct we wont be using the radio . But by the sounds the external battery will cover that nicely . Thankyou
