Having picked up some very useful information on here to solve my last problem with a TSCe, I wonder if anyone may possibly be able help me with the next one please.
On my Trimble 4700 which I'm using as a base station, I've selected RTK in survey type on the Survey Controller, typed in known coordinates which has changed the observation type from autonomous to keyed in and started the base receiver. It goes through the startup step as expected and everything appears OK.

However, it is when I then go to 'Instrument' and Position that autonomous is listed as the solution type along with floating coordinates that do not match those keyed in.

Is this what you would expect to see and it is actually using a fixed position? Or is it not configured correctly and the position status should match the typed in coordinates ?

That is what you should expect. It is a BASE and is not receiving corrections, so it will report an autonomous position. And that position will change over time.

But the engine that is generating correction messages will use the fixed (keyed in) position that you entered and the broadcast corrections will reflect that fixed position.

I think you are good to move on to initializing the rover. It will (should) show a fixed position.

One note, if the position that you key in to the base is disparate from the actual location by a long ways, your rover may not fix.

Good luck!

M
