Has anyone experienced the recent failure of the Spectra Precision EPOCH 35 receivers to collect Satellite data. My unit quit about 2 weeks ago. I found a demo unit on line, met salesman to check it out, it acted exactly the same (came on, self-tested OK, no satellites). I sent my unit in to dealer to have firmware updated (as dealer said possibly Kick-Start the unit). While in transit to dealer, dealer emailed that they had just gotten an EPOCH 35 in with the exact same problem, and firmware didn't resurrect it. My unit would always report 12/31/1979 on the OPUS file. I suspect a programming "Date" problem. Three unrelated units recently with same problem.

I think you should update the firmware to the latest 3.907 from novatel.
I have a epoch 35 on order from ebay and need some info on radio antenna.
The manual says that the antenna has to be 0db or 5db
Can I buy antenna with 3db like this? Will it work?

Tried "0000" "1111" "1234" but doesn't pair.

The epoch 35 (don't know for epoch 50) doesn't pair with android devices that require pin because there is no pin! The only way to pair the epoch is with windows mobile data collectors that doesn't require pin.
BTW the epoch 35 works great up to today. Don't know for the future but for now it works pretty good as GPS-GLO receiver.
