?ÿ ?ÿ ?ÿ ?ÿ ?ÿ I've bought an ex-rental GR-5 from our local dealer and had the same issue, I think the previous owner needs to de-register the unit from their account before you can add it to yours, must be some sort of a security measure. Maybe try calling your local dealer and asking whether they could flick you a copy.

the geographic region issue did occur to me

I checked the firmware version and the unit had not been updated for the GPS rollover in April last year

I updated the firmware and thought that may solve any issues with the region but no different

I will check to see if it had been previously registered with Topcon

the registration situation you refer to makes a lot of sense

I will try to resolve it with the owner before I go to my Dealer

Dealer is very helpful when I buy from them, not so much otherwise. 🙂
