So we finally sprung and got an r8s base unit which I am very excited about hoping to set it up tomorrow with our r10 rover unit.. My question for everyone is what are all of your experience with this set up or a similar set up? Will i be able to go rough 1/4 mile and retain about a .02h x .03v accuracy? Will I be able to go into the woods and get initialization.?ÿ
?ÿ
thank you
Depends on how the R8s is configured, and which R10 you have...
@rover83 we have a first gen r10 which I know is not as up to date as the newer one. We are planning on upgrading the rover probably within the next 5 years.
If you've been running as a network rover then the base will be a big help.?ÿ?ÿWith the first gen R10 you're not going to do as well in the woods due to having fewer satellites available.?ÿ It's just a simple numbers game.?ÿ With the R10-2, R-12, & R12i you'll often have over thirty birds in the open and often only slightly fewer in the woods.?ÿ This just gives the unit more to work with and thus the abilities to get better solutions and easier for it to filter out multipath and bad solutions.
Here i have R10-2 and i am new to this equipment so if you are familiar with R10-2 then can you share with me your better ideas base on operating @stephen-ward
