10k is my threshold for purchasing a new network rover. Here are my requirements:

Work with the KY CORS Network
Be able to collect static data for OPUS
Include data collector with either SurvCE or Survey Pro platforms.
Easy upgrade path to onsite Base/Rover system.

What I've identified:

Javad Triumph 1 with basic SurvCE data collector
(no dealer close but widely regarded as an excellent receiver, support from Klein highly regarded here and elsewhere)

CHC X91+ and LT30 running SurveCE
(no dealer close but widely regarded as an excellent receiver, support from iCage highly regarded here and elsewhere, 0% for 24 months is very attractive)

Carlson BRx5 with Mini2 data collector
(Sold here in my home state of KY. No info on Hemisphere GNSS equip. Carlson widely regarded as excellent software company, do I want to be a beta tester of their hardware?)

Only others sold HERE are big yellow and burnt yellow and they are $$$

Altus (know nothing)
Geomax (know nothing)

Any others I am not aware of?

What are your thoughts on the above or any other options?

Thanks and keep on choppin'
CB

If you're willing to accept a used receiver, there should be a lot more out there that would fit your budget.

I am running the geomagnetic zenith 25 units. They are made by Leica and swap from base to rover with a push of a button. It also accepts a Sim card and has an internal radio. I did have issues with at&t getting a Sim card but have always had problems with that. It runs alot better than the sokkia 2700isx that I was used to. The getac data collector that it came with is ok but it does freeze on occasion. I run from a permanent trimble base with the cellular modem and it works seamlessly. I hope this helps.

I would have no problem with a good used system but I have a hard time gaining confidence in expensive used electronics from ebay or the like. If it was local, I could use it, test it, see it, etc. then no, I would have no problem with a used system.

I have had six hiper units of various iterations. I know the costs associated with gaskets, radio boards, key pads, antennae, batteries, etc. Warranty and peace of mind go a long way for me, but as I said if there was something used that i could see in action, I would not hesitate.

Thanks

The most important thing for me would be local dealer support. I've purchased items (including network rovers) from out of state dealers but when trouble arose I was left to figure it out. The out of state dealers tried to work over the phone (when I could reach them), but when a solution couldn't be had, my only option was to ship it to them. That can be a bit of a headache.

I am very pleased with my recent 0-24 acquisition.

The iGage support from many states away has been fantastic, just a phone call away, even on Saturdays and Sundays.

keep on choppin'
