I bought a used Leica CS10 field controller on ebay, it works good with SmartWorx VIVA Key 4.60, my question is: is there anyway I can retrieve the licence Key of the software (In Trimble TSC2 we can find the Keys in about section for exemple), to save it in case I need it in the future. I tried to download it from MyWorld but it didnÛªt accept the controller SN. Any help. thanks
you could try looking in the CS10's system folder.
Hi ekillo, thanks fir your replay, actually I tried to find something in the programme folder but nothing that seems to be a Key file, I think the files must be registred somewhere in the registry or crypted in some way.

I was just told by our Leica rep last week to put my new license file in the system folder on my CS15.
Do you mean Windows folder because I dont see any "System" folder, as you can see in the pic of my controller. Thanks.

The System folder is either on your USB stick or the SD card. That's the path the Viva looks for the license key in when you go to load it.
I received our license keys from our sales vendor. I'm not sure if I can save the key back to a stick or card.
The license key go under the system folder on the SD card.
In the SD card I have no system folder (its a new formatted card). I have a System folder where SmartWorx Viva is set Up on the My Device but there is no Licence file. I Think the keys are crypted somewhere from the file wich load only in the first time so only the first one who setup the software need to load licence files.

You get the license key from the dealer, who got it from Leica. You create a System folder on the SD card and copy the key there.
I don't know if you're able to work it backwards, copying it from the DC to the card.
I'd think that your unit should be registered with Leica somehow, through the person you bought it from, and you'd be able to see and mange it through the myWorld website.
Maybe you should find out where it was originally purchased, and go talk to them.
