That doesn't make sense, why would the dealer needs serial numbers to diagnose a problem? Call me next time. I don't work for Topcon, but I'll answer the phone, connect to your system via GoToMeeting and get you gong in minutes.

Topcon $6000.00 plus compounded interest 12 months 3.5% all in
all will be good.

Topcon has dealers, and some dealers are great with optical stuff, and others are good with electronice, stull others understand technical problems like yours.
You got a dealer, who is not good with your problem.

There has to be at least 50 types who are good with problems in the
attached building image.

Drop and run

Seems to me I have similar experience. In a company I work for we have an excavator equipped with Topcon, rover Hiper SR + FC5000 and recently bought a new robot with another FC5000. They did drop and run but without a DC. When they delivered DC two weeks later it was without sim card - another 2 weeks waiting for it and all paid. When my boss negotiated a purchase they were best friends. Fortunately all problems sorted now.
