I used to work with Trimble Business Center where selection of baselines (between control to Rover & between Rover to Rover) for processing is allowed. Recently I have switched to another organization where LGO is purchased instead. They have this Reference-Rover baseline processing algorithm in it by which you define locations as either reference or rover, and all the proceeded baseline would be between reference and rover only.
Not obsessed with the idea saying that "Independent baseline is always better without overestimating the accuracy". But someone in workplace gave the Independent baseline concept when introducing processing with LGO, it makes me a bit uncomfortable as I can't quite follow it. It is possible that I have probably missed out something in LGO as well.
Anyone here masters both TBC and LGO? Advices needed.

LGO can process all the lines.?ÿ Under GPS-Process Tab you need to choose 'Automatic' under the processing mode option.?ÿ You also need to make sure that the processing mode parameter for automatic is set to all base lines.
In my view, the independent/dependent arguments apply mainly to the network adjustment where you want independent data.?ÿ I think the theory was that adding the dependent lines falsely increases the degree of freedom in the adjustment.
Which vectors ("baselines") to use depends on what is important to you.?ÿ The base likely has more accurate coordinates than a rover, so that baseline vector should be used if you want individual rover positions to be the best you can get.?ÿ However, if you are most interested in the distance and direction between rovers, then those vectors should be used.
Using all possible vectors amounts to a re-weighting of the measurements, and as John mentioned falsely improves the estimates of accuracy rather than giving the true accuracy statistics.
