I've got a couple of Z-xtreme units I've been using for OPUS solutions. They work great. I've been exploring the option of using them for RTK. I have a friend that will loan me a PDL radio setup so I am covered for that aspect. I will be using his Surv CE data collector also.
I bought these units used and have been using GNSS solutions for the Static work, however, I do not have any of the software to talk to the units. I have read about the Ashtech Receiver Communication System and Commander software, but of course I am not sure what will apply to the Z-xtreme. Not to mention finding the software available since all roads lead to Trimble. What software do I need to talk to the units, and does anyone have a copy they will part with? I have been experimenting with terminal programs to no avail.

I know these units are ancient, but I have a couple of jobs on the water that could utilize these units.

Do you have a specific application that would require this type of software? The reason I ask is the SurvCE software will talk to and control settings of the Z-Xtreme units. There would be no need for sending PASH commands etc to configure the receivers independent of the field collection software to set these up for RTK.

In speaking with someone that had used the unit (a while back) he stated that I needed to the program the radio channels in the rover. If SurvCE can do this, then so much the better. Thanks for the reply.

One thing to be mindful of is the PDL's specification. If it's not in compliance with the narrowbanding regulations, you and/or the license holder can be in for a serious fine if caught.
