Watched some videos. Looked enticing enough to make me want to try it out. Apparently, Trimble bought Penmap Encore in 2013, and have ported it to Android, available as of 2017. This Android app can use the R10 (and others of the R series) connected to a correction network, and provide precision surveying functions on your smartphone.

Hard to look around the web and find pricing info, but apparently there is a monthly subscription to the tune of around $50 per month. This is not Trimble Catalyst, and its plug-in GNSS antenna (cost for the precision service is apparently around $450 per month with Catalyst). Catalyst is a software based GNSS engine which uses the cellphone's internal processor to process the incoming corrections and produce 1-2 centimeter level positions around the Globe at any time. Pretty slick. If you do not own any GNSS equipment, and only have temporary uses for it, $450 (ballpark) is not bad for a months usage.?ÿ

Wow, does Trimble have lots going on? Trimble Connect, Trimble Link, Trimble Penmap, Trimble Catalyst, Trimble Penmap Project Manager...the list goes on and on. Leica user here. First time I have looked into Trimble offerings in more than a decade. How do you Trimble guys keep up? I need a tutorial just on Trimble product offerings.?ÿ

Have a good weekend,
