Not too familiar with the R10/Trimble Access/TSC3 setup (used in combination with Survey pro (I think) for conventional on the same TSC3) , but with the R8 and TSC2/Survey pro and with Topcon/Topsurv, one could set up the base to collect static, start it, and walk away from the base, and start collecting RTK or conventional. All while the base is collecting static. I am told that this is not possible with R10 setups using access and survey pro. Heck, with Topcon, you didn't even need a controller...just set it up, push a button on the head, (record your HI in the book) and go. All you had to do was grab the files off the head. I have to verify but I assume they are downloading to the head. Can someone enlighten me?

I still use my HIPER GGD as a 'stand alone' when collecting OPUS data. No data collector needed, whch is nice because then I can use the DC and my Robot to do locations, while my hyper is pinging away with the birds in the sky.

Whoever told you that has no idea what they're talking about, as is often the case with posts about Trimble. With ANY receiver you can start the base using RTK & Logging as your survey method and it will both collect static data at whatever interval you specify and broadcast RTK corrections in whatever format you need them in. Furthermore, the R10 has a very good WiFi user interface that will let you set it up to do whatever you want, including act as an NTRP caster using its internal modem, with your laptop, tablet, or smartphone, you don't need a TSC3 at all.

I could understand why you would have wanted Survey Pro for conventional at one time, but that time is long past... Trimble Access is as good as anything at this point.

I agree, The R10 as a base or rover really rocks. By the way Survey Pro does not have the drivers to run the R10.
