I’m selling off some equipment.
First is my Thales Z-Max GPS/RTK gear.
All original Thales equipment that was purchased by me in early 2006 from Galileo Instruments in San Clemente, CA. They are now earthsurface.com, I believe,
Two receivers with soft and flight cases. And all the cables, radio, pole adapters etc.
RTK was never used. All stuff in original new condition and boxes
I have the original invoice(s) for review. Serious inquiries only.
Make a reasonable offer and I will respond.
Email though surveyconnect or …arpenteur AT outlook . calm.
Offers from Davis CA surveyors wool not be reviewed.

Okay, since Jim Frame won't be a contender, I'm willing to go $100 plus shipping, but only if the RTK has never been used.
Ashtech, post-Javad, struggled a bit with form factors. The PM2 was very compact and hit a great price point, though it was pretty cheaply built.
The Z-Max, though, looked like a piece of square stove pipe with a length of sewer pipe attached. They're probably very serviceable units - I've never actually seen one in the flesh - but the odd form factor always turned me off.
Z=Max was made by Thales in France. Good units and good design. I think Derek TNAI who had Zmaxes referred to them as coffee thermoses .They did design had a nice handle.
Never mounted the units on pole or tripods for static work except once for a brief session. They were in the box while recording.Units remained in case protected while the antenna was placed on a dummy adapter that was the height of the unit. I thought that was smart.
Reliable, tough and good results for NGS and COE Height mod work.
The units were shipped directly from France to my door.
Are these L1 or L1/L2? My interest is piqued if I could use it for OPUS.
I have trouble distinguishing the models and the capabilities of Ashtech/Magellan/Promark/Thales GPS units.
l2
no problem with OPUS but you may want to search other avenues if you ware just looking for OPUS receivers.
I don't want the breakout the RTK gear from the units

Looks like the prop department guys from the original Star Trek went to work for Thales

I don’t get it James but that isn't anything new.
26 years of experience doing GPS work with Trimble, Ashtech, Topcon Hipers and Lieca units ..the Zmax was my favorite for field use. Never had a problem. I owns Hipers and they did not compare to the Zmax except for the price point. But you get what you pay for, right?
Thales brought out Ashtech then a few years later Magellan( Indian investment gang)bought out Thales and then everything went down the twa-la IMO.
Galileo was a good vendor. They worked with me in the aftermath of Katrina and made it possible for me to buy and not get thrown to the lease sharks. They threw me about $5K worth extra ( Carlson software, Allegro CX and additional field adapters for static work. Linda Pudder was great support on the vendor side and Phil Stephenson was there for my tech support. As we all know, Phil was the best. Period.
Think V'ger from the original Star Trek.
ZMAX GPS Ohhh now
I get it. Excuse mois for not being a Trekkie geek.:-)
