What would you spend on a used:

GTS 300
GTS 312
GPT 3005W

The last Topcon I used was a GTS 3B, don't know a lot about any of these gums. I've got a choice from a good friend I used to do some work for. I'm in need of a conventional total station for a few boundary and topos coming up. The old Geodimeter 610 is a little too cumbersome to be toting around in the woods.

Thanks for any input!

CC

We have 3003 & 3B's. Like them both. No problems or complaints.

Never used a 300 series.

I'd go with the 3005 since it is newer.

i have a 3003 that i love. the bluetooth is nice if your data collector has it too. the reflectorless is awesome. the battery lasts for 2 days. and it is about the lightest gun on the market.

i think i paid $5,500 for mine about 3 years ago.

If the GTS-300 is that specific model and not just a GTS-300 series, then it is a 1" instrument.

The GTS-312 is a 3" instrument and was a popular model. We still see very few of those coming in as trade in units.

The GPT-3005W is a 5" instrument with an EDM range of up to 250 meters reflectorless. It is the second generation of the GPT-3000 series, the chief distinguishing characteristis between is the addition of the Bluetooth capability. It is dual-axis compensated.

All should work fine with most any data collector.

I have a GPT 6002 and a QS. I have had the 6002 for about 10 years now and it still runs like a clock. It has TDS onboard and is very fast and taking shots. Just purchased the QS and still learning the software for the data collector. Of all the guns that I have ran, I like the Topcon the best.

I would go with the GPT-3005W. I have an LW. It is a good instrument. Hint-you get better vertical results if you cycle if off then on after it is level and over the point.
