I’m looking for this book for studying. I recently obtained a copy of the Dodds 1815-1855 book, while it’s a welcomed addition to my collection but isn’t what I need for studying in Iowa.

I saw it listed on the Society of Land Surveyors of Iowa web site for $100. Not sure it is currently available, but you need to try there if you haven't.

There are some unfortunate problems with the book, but yes, it's a great resource. In the printing I have (not for sale), a few of the county index maps are placed for the wrong county, which you will probably figure out. It seems that there is a gap in the letter books.

I'm curious where you are. I'm in Cedar Rapids, and am not a surveyor, but am interested in the methods and history.

Yes I’ve spoken with SLSI, they are no longer publishing copies. I am in Northern IL.
