- Had a question I hope someone can answer. In the list of qualifications to register to sit for the FS exam in Virginia, it says that you should possess a minimum of eight years of land surveying experience. I can not find anyone that can tell me exactly what that experience is. I’m under the impression that a map drawer with zero field experience qualifies to sit for the FS and PS. How can you be a surveyor with no field experience?
