I am looking to take either the Vermont or Connecticut State Surveyors Exams in April 2016 (which ever the company says is the priority). Any advice on specific references that I should look at purchasing to study for the exams?
For Vermont, contact VSLS, they have some http://www.vsls.org/publications&apos ;">publications that are quite valuable as the test (at least when I took it) is open book. Bone up on Vermont history, Vermont road laws, and plat law.
Paul D hit the nail on the head. Definitely get what you can from VSLS.
Thanks for the advise. I'll be sure to get those references.
Check out the Conn Surveyors society website as it used to reference the needed materials for the exam.
CT:
You should also get hold of "Statutes and Case Law Pertaining to Land Surveying in Connecticut", by CT Assoc. of Land Surveyors, edited by Don Wilson.
CT's Minimum Standards are certain to be a big part of the exam.
Their website has a book list.
Is the VT exam open or closed-book?
It was open book when I took it a couple of years ago.
Thanks, Paul. I was going on that assumption - and couldn't find anything that said it specifically.
LS 118250
?
Anyone know why they jump from # 754, issued in 2009, to numbers this high, and kind of at random? (other license numbers issued along with mine in May: 100478, 109148, 117914). There are only 236 active - and less than 1000 historically.
Yeah, its weird. I'm 100653, not sure what its about. Had to confirm what number was supposed to go on my stamp...
Congratulations on passing!
Thanks, Paul.
Yeah, it's going to be tough fitting that on a cap.
Did they switch from a series of LS licence numbers to one series of numbers for all kinds of licences issued by the state?
No idea. But the other numbers issued with mine aren't even close to my number.
