> Too bad we didn't have an "official" gathering.
I concur. In the future, we hope to set something up so more of us can get together. That would be a blast!
> Spent a couple of hours one on one with Wendell and David Souza (his business partner), they will be building a web site for my company, very excited to see that happen!
And honored to do so! 🙂
Wendell and Angel
Thank you. It came as a complete surprise. I think they chose me to keep me hooked into staying involved, not that they needed to.

This is what I was given.

> It was a pleasure to meet and talk with both of you. I too love the auction but things just went too high for me. I did however get a nice Navajo bracelet for Jean and I's up coming anniversary.

> Joe and Jean
I wanted that too but I refused to outbid any of you. Just wouldn't of felt right to me. (I'm sucha softy!!) 🙂
Live Crabs!!
> I only spent around $120 on the auction, BUT I scored on FOUR live crab delivered to my doorstep, $45!

> SHG
See, I told ya Shelby won live crabs!!! 😛
You're wife is very nice, Shelby! I enjoyed the "plumb bob Christmas tree" chats with her. 😉
Sometime in the future we should do an informal gathering so everyone can get together and visit, eat, drink, and be merry. Meet in a centralized location that works for everyone. Maybe in Bend in the summer so some of us that are west of the Cascades can turn it into a mini get-a-way as well. Of course ANYONE here on Beerleg is invited too! :good:
Congrats Joe Ferguson-PLSO Surveyor of the Year
I saw this news item buried in this post from a couple days ago.
Well deserved award Joe.
Although I’ve only met Joe once (nice guy), a friend of mine worked for Joe (and Jean) this last year and raved about what an outstanding surveyor, employer and citizen Joe is. I know from the PLSO publication, The Oregon Surveyor, that Joe is extremely active in the organization. Which is akin to having a second job that pays zilch, takes almost as much time as your regular job (except with more travel) and is as thankless as a bankers handshake.
Good job Joe. Good job PLSO.
Congrats Joe Ferguson-PLSO Surveyor of the Year
You ever get that "feeling" when you meet someone for the first time? You know, like you can just tell that person is a really good, genuine person? That was the feeling I got when I met Joe last week. And then I found out from others how active he is in the PLSO. And then he spoke about his donation drive in his chapter that produced $1,561 for scholarships (and that's only one chapter!). And then my wife and I got to hang out with him at the scholarship auction. The profession should be proud to have the likes of Joe hanging around with them.
