It's pretty cool what he's done. We know some folks whose kids are using the site now, and I'm hoping to get my son (13) into it as well.

Interesting link, thanks for posting.

Also, very interesting to think about the current state of formal education and where it's heading, and how sites such as Khan Academy might be bringing in some major changes. I've heard a whisper or two on the 'net that formal higher education may be the next bubble and may be in for some radical right-sizing.

oh, i was expecting honors empire building from professor Ghenghis Khan and full speed horseback combat archery from professor Kubla Khan. must be the wrong school, my apologies

That is where we need to be heading...freely available or very inexpensive education, distributed on the internet.

One instructor can lecture millions for pennies. Why is this taking so long?

My only worry is that it will become politically or religiously slanted (as our current system is).
