After 31 years as a Professional Surveyor Licensed in Arkansas, Mississippi and Missouri, I decided to go for the Texas License. It has been 31 years since I took one of those tests. Well, I got greetings and congratulations from TBPLS the other day, Working full time and finding time to study if difficult. The young guys that are taking the full NCEES Exam and working full time are really dedicated.
I would offer congratulations but sympathy is more in order based on following a bunch of threads on here about the torturous perils of surveying in Texas. You will need to purchase a pale-colored, broad-brimmed Western hat of some sort to go with your ostrich-skin boots and bolo tie...............oh, and a superior attitude to hold over anyone licensed in a smaller state.

Congratulations. It was only a dozen years between when I took Maryland and went back to take Delaware & Pennsylvania, but it was hard to get motivated to study again.
I took PA in October and I suspect the letter is in the mail because when I checked online this morning I have a license number with an issue date of last Friday.
Congratulations. I have known many surveyors that felt capable of a Texas license, a number fewer than that were successful. Good luck. You are now officially licensed (and required) to have a palette for really spicy food. And your eyes will glass over from the smell of smoldering mesquite...
ps - I thought the bolo tie came with the license...?!
Congratulations. Texas is a tough one...

As a young guy who went through it this year, I appreciate your kind words. I was actually beside a gentleman about to retire during my test this year....all walks of life, really.
Well, Steve, you can now survey both sides of the red river!
Congrats!
Cheers!:clink:
