I put this here because there is something to learn in this new book by John P Evans, Jr and Jim Teller.
It is an extension of their book titled "Evolution of the Texas-Lousiana Boundary" (available thru the SMU bookstore) with more info on the process that leads to where the Louisiana boundary falls and some mention of the Texas, Arkansas and Louisiana intersecting area.
This book is available directly from one of the authors and everything to know about ordering a copy is included in this email that I received as follows:
To our friends in Louisiana and Texas:
First of all, Jim and I would like to say THANK YOU for your continued support of Evolution of the Texas ?? Louisiana Boundary: In Search of the Elusive Corner. The folks at the Clements Center tell us that sales are going ??Briskly?.
Secondly, I would like to announce the publication of our recent project, Evolution of Louisiana??s Unofficial Boundary. The title of this work originates from the sequence of historical events along the Texas-Louisiana boundary between the 32nd and 33rd parallel of north latitude resulting in the state of Louisiana exercising sovereignty outside of its Congressional-mandated boundary. According to official State and Federal records, the states of Texas and Louisiana do not share a common land boundary between the 32nd and 33rd degree of north latitude!
With the support of Jeremy M. Evans, DeSoto Parish Clerk of Court, we have recently self-published this project. The First Edition is a 125 copy print run and each copy is an 8 ?« inch by 11 inch hardback volume containing over 110 pages with over one third of the pages containing full color maps and graphics.
The cost of our new book is $40.00 per copy plus $5.00 shipping. At this time I am not set up to take credit or debit cards for payment for the book. If you are interested in a copy of the book please let me know by return E-mail then send payment along with a physical shipping address to me at the following location and I will send a copy of the book to you by return mail as soon as possible.

Perfect Christmas gift for our absent buddy Kent...we all remember how fond he was of East Texas...;)
(if I remember correctly he once questioned whether East Texas should have been included in the Republic at all...)
I always though Louisiana's "unofficial" boundary was the line between drinking partying Catholics in the south and teetotaling Baptists in the north.
I believe that Kent does not like crossing the Trinity River.
Too many trees and not enough original evidence is just laying around in open sight like out west and down toward the Rio Grande.
Having to drive way off line and around the bend passing by DFW metro can add several hours one way for him to get here.
