Have been in an online continuing education program since 8:00 this morning.?ÿ This is a Geotechnical Conference.?ÿ A nice variety of speakers and topics.?ÿ Have had the sound level on 42 all day.?ÿ The final speaker is on now.?ÿ Gave up and turned the sound level to 100.?ÿ When he is speaking directly towards the microphone I can catch about 70 percent of what he is saying.?ÿ The big problem is that he keeps stepping away from the podium to point at the big screen showing his photos.?ÿ Nothing can be heard but a small echo.?ÿ Everyone in the auditorium is hearing at the same level I am.?ÿ The view of the audience leaves the impression they are in church because there is no one in the first half dozen rows of seating.
His topic is: Utilizing Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) in Geotechnical Site Characterization.,
No one has the guts to catch the eye of either the speaker or the moderator to request the doofus actually speak into the microphone.
Most of those on-line doohickeys have a function for writing in a comment or question. We know that you know how to write comments.?ÿ
I'm too polite. ?????ÿ
Truthfully, I am rather inexperienced with all this Zoom meeting stuff.?ÿ Normally SWMBO handles all the details and I simply stare at the screen and make comments when appropriate.
At a surveying conference you better speak up. Last one I was at I was one of the younguns. Everyone was shouting or going EH? WHAT? SPEAK UP!!
I DON'T HAVE TROUBLE HEARING YOU HAVE TO SPEAK UP!!!!!

So strange.?ÿ I went to one a month after I hit 50, and out of the 300 or so people there, I was definitely one of the youngsters
I recently went to get my J&J booster shot, and looking around at everyone else who was there for a booster, had me feeling the same way.
