Any CFedS words of wisdom?

Friday I sit for the CFedS final. I am in that awesome place where I waffle from reasonably confident to pretty much overwhelmed. The journey to this point has been a tough balancing act but very rewarding. I have read and heard nearly everything in the course before, but having it in one place over a short time has been unbelievable.
Any last minute words of wisdom from those who have passed would be appreciated.

Don't hesitate! Go through and answer all the questions that you know are right and then go back and start the harder ones. RE-check the previous answers on your second trip through, then again on your third time checking! Good Luck, it's a tough exam!

I have two suggestions. Go through the outlines for the first and last modules and review the 7 module quizzes.

Oh, and put fresh batteries in your HP35s. I didn't feel rushed taking the exam.

You got this! Be organized and have your reference material tabulated. Have past quizzes available for easy reference. Ditto time management like foggyidea said.

Thanks guys. Working on the last indexing now. I usually switch to looking up random bits the last few days before an exam. I'll take short breaks to load the trailer. Leaving for the mountains once I turn everything in...

This....especially having the quizzes handy. Or not..may have changed since I took it waaaay back in 2008.

Seriously, if a couple of colonial guys like Foggy and I can pass it...just saying 😉

An idle aside: I see that three posters in this thread have let their CFedS expire.

PLSS hipsters...
[SARCASM]
I liked CFedS before it was cool.
My first Manual was a '47.
I have a red book.
I always report mean bearings even when my clients don't want 'em.
I surveyed in NAD27 until...pretty much now.
I wrote a lisp routine called "Grant Boundary" so that I don't have to use the scale and rotate commands in CAD.
When giving driving directions, I use the phrase "line of constant bearing" instead of the word "straight".[/SARCASM]
😉

I took a pad of the little colored 1"x2" stickies from marking page edges and put one on every question I wasn't ready to answer immediately, and just peered thru the entire test. Then went back and worked the more difficult items that I'd marked. Ended up with plenty of time to spare to review. 1st time pass -class2 2007

"I see that three posters in this thread have let their CFedS expire."

Once you are a CFED, you are a CFED in my book.

Granted the program can use your money every year, but the honor bestowed by tag won't wear off.

This is kind of like the Oregon 'you are not an Electrical Engineer unless you pay us', even if you are an Electrical Engineer deal.

Load the trailer, forget about the test, think of the mountains.

The test will take care of itself.

I dont suspect my fretting and fidgeting will make much difference. Unfortunately I am incapable of just letting go. 5 times I've sat for exams with 5 very good outcomes. I still get twisted up from 2 weeks before until the letter comes.
Thank you all for the good thoughts and advice..

You mean curved?

Or do you only give directions to people driving the equator?

Oh boy did you open up a BLM can o' worms.
From the 2009 Manual, 2-13: "By statute, in the PLSS datum, the term 'straight line' is used when describing a line of constant bearing. The term has a different meaning from that used in geodesy, where a straight line corresponds approximately to a line of sight or a geodesic."

Now, whether the aforementioned statement is even true is a matter of some (often contentious) debate. Whether it has been consistent within BLM is not a matter of debate: it hasn't been consistent.

That's why I made the joke :).

Ha, I was wondering if the BLM thing had anything to do with the joke. And then I was like naaaaah, it's probably just a typo.
