Judging by the color I'd say some surveyor went a little overboard on the paint.

What I got from the article was not that the the issue was painting the snake, but getting close enough to do it.

Wasn't me. If the snake was on my property it wouldn't be pink, it would be dead.
I don't even carry paint in the truck anymore.
