2002 Buick LeSabre. Had the front right wheel bearing replaced this morning and the rotor smoothed down. Repair seemed to go fine, but, just an hour ago in light traffic, the transmission starts slipping, or at least that's what I think these jolts that occurred while accelerating were. Can that be related to this morning's repair?

Check the transmission fluid level.
2002 Buick LeSabre Reliability Rating
" Occasional problems on this vehicle are failures of the Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid, the 2-3 Shift Solenoid and the Transmission Valve Body. A sticking valve in the Transmission Valve Body or a faulty solenoid can cause erratic shifting or the check engine light to come on. The Transmission Valve Body can become dirty and plugged."
I believe that's a front wheel drive. If it is...the cv joint (bearing)may not be installed correctly...especially if it "jerks" or "bangs" under acceleration. Take it back to the shop, quick.

I second that.
There are parts in there, that can do that, if not installed correctly.

If there is some sort of traction control that might be causing it too, working on one brake might cause that, most of the traction control systems work by applying a brake to the spinning wheel, if there is something messed up with the ABS sensor on the repaired side it could be causing the computer to apply the brake on that side and cause the jerking. In any event it is almost certain something to do with the repair and NOT your transmission.

I have an older LeSabre and the ABS/traction sensor is pretty close to the rotor. It would be fairly easy to loosen the sensor or its wire connector, damage it, or knock it out of position while working on the rotor or the axle. There will likely be a diagnostic code that can be quickly read out to see if that's the problem.
Thanks, guys. Back at the shop now.
